ScalaHosting’s shared hosting range

Mini is the entry plan, with one website and 10 GB of NVMe storage. It suits a small personal site or a project that only needs one website. It does not include a free-domain offer.

Start increases storage to 50 GB and supports multiple websites, so it is a better fit if you run several smaller sites. Advanced raises storage to 100 GB while also allowing multiple websites; consider it when you need more room for sites and their files. Start and Advanced include a free-domain offer subject to ScalaHosting’s eligibility and initial-term conditions.

All three are shared-CPU and shared-RAM plans. ScalaHosting does not publish a dedicated CPU or RAM allocation for each shared tier, so the higher plans should be understood as offering more storage and site capacity, not dedicated server resources.

What stands out, and what to consider

All three plans use NVMe SSD storage, and the plan listings include free SSL, CDN integration, SSH access, WordPress installation and staging. ScalaHosting offers SPanel, its own control panel, and cPanel; the current plan page has a panel selector. SPanel includes tools for managing websites, email, databases, files, SSL, backups and WordPress. Some security features, including SShield monitoring, are associated with SPanel, so the available features depend on the panel selected.

ScalaHosting describes daily off-site backups and control-panel restores, but the plan cards also show automated backups as a premium feature. The sources do not clearly reconcile how backup inclusion varies by configuration, and they do not confirm a fixed retention period for these tiers. Check the selected plan and panel details at checkout, and keep an independent copy of important files.

The provider operates the shared hosting platform and says hosting support is available around the clock by live chat, email and ticket. That does not mean it maintains your site’s code or applications: its standard technical support excludes coding, third-party application configuration, security audits and malware cleanup. ScalaHosting names several locations across its wider network, but the available location choices for these shared plans are not confirmed.

Prices, billing terms and renewals

The cheapest plan currently starts at $2.95. ScalaHosting displays an introductory offer separately from the standard renewal rate, which is higher; do not assume the initial rate continues when the service renews. The current plan page offers monthly and longer billing terms, and a longer initial term can have a different introductory effective rate. Eligible new customers may request a refund within the applicable initial refund window, subject to the provider’s terms and exclusions.

How ScalaHosting compares

Choose GreenGeeks if choosing among its listed data-centre locations, including Chicago, Montreal, Amsterdam and Singapore, matters to you. PlanetHoster is an alternative if you want a provider that explicitly describes its hosting as fully managed and offers France, Switzerland or Canada locations. For a broader choice of selectable locations, Hostinger offers web and cloud plans with locations across several regions, subject to availability.
