GreenGeeks web hosting plans
Lite is the entry plan for a small website or blog, with 25 GB of web space. GreenGeeks’ own pages disagree about its website limit: the current pricing page says five, while its shared-hosting feature table says one. Our comparison lists one, so don’t assume Lite can host several sites without checking the plan terms.
Pro raises storage to 50 GB and is positioned for growing sites; GreenGeeks lists it for unlimited websites. Premium provides 100 GB and is aimed at busy websites or online stores. GreenGeeks says Premium accounts are placed on servers with fewer customers and receive increased CPU, memory and resources, though it does not publish consistently confirmed current CPU and RAM limits for each tier. Choose Pro for multiple sites, or Premium if you need more storage and want the tier GreenGeeks positions for heavier use.
What stands out in GreenGeeks shared hosting
GreenGeeks lists Chicago, Montreal, Amsterdam and Singapore as provisioning locations, and says customers can choose a location for any of these plans. Shared hosting runs on LiteSpeed web servers with SSD storage, which GreenGeeks describes as RAID-10 arrays. cPanel, the GreenGeeks dashboard, Softaculous app installation and one-click CDN integration are available. Our comparison also lists a free domain, while GreenGeeks lists free Let’s Encrypt SSL.
This is managed shared hosting: GreenGeeks operates the physical hardware, network and configured hosting platform. You manage your sites through cPanel, but do not get root access or control of server-level software. Support is listed as available around the clock by live chat, phone and ticket for hosting, cPanel, hardware and network issues; custom development and all third-party software troubleshooting are not included.
GreenGeeks describes disaster-recovery backups, but its documentation does not establish one daily schedule or retention period for every tier. Pro and Premium customers can access system backups for on-demand restores; other customers are eligible for one manual restore per month. GreenGeeks advises keeping your own copies, so don’t treat its backups as your only backup. Shared hosting also means sharing server resources with other customers.
Prices, terms and renewals
The cheapest plan currently starts at $2.95. GreenGeeks advertises an introductory rate for an initial prepaid term; the plan renews at its regular rate afterward, so compare the renewal terms as well as the first-term offer. The current pricing page advertises a prepaid annual term, and other billing-period options were not confirmed. Hosting renews automatically unless you disable auto-renewal before renewal. A 30-day money-back guarantee applies to qualifying cancellations during the initial service period; domains and add-ons may be excluded or non-refundable, and renewal charges are not covered.
