Infomaniak’s online storage plans
kDrive Solo is the individual option, with one user and a fixed storage allowance. It suits personal files, photos and documents. Infomaniak’s pages give conflicting figures for Solo’s storage limit, so check the current plan details before choosing based on capacity.
Team is designed for small groups sharing company files, with multiple users and user management. Pro is aimed at larger or growing teams: it offers more storage and expandable user capacity, as well as file-content search and online editing with Microsoft Office Online and OnlyOffice.
Swiss Backup is a separate product line. Cloud Space is protocol-based storage for customers who choose and configure compatible software, such as a service using Swift, S3 or SFTP. Acronis options back up specific device types, including workstations, mobile devices, servers and virtual machines; device types are licensed separately.
What stands out about kDrive and Swiss Backup
Infomaniak says kDrive data is stored and processed in Switzerland, across multiple data centres, with redundant copies. The company states that Swiss jurisdiction applies and that the service complies with GDPR and the Swiss data-protection law. Customers cannot choose a specific data centre. For kDrive, Infomaniak documents SSL/TLS in transit and AES-128-CBC at rest. These details do not establish zero-knowledge or customer-exclusive-key encryption.
kDrive has desktop sync for Windows, macOS and Linux, mobile apps for iOS and Android, web access, selective sync and mobile offline files. It also supports photo backup and connections with Synology and QNAP devices. Users can share links with password and expiry controls, collaborate in shared folders and edit documents online. User and rights-management options vary by tier.
Per-file version history and recycle-bin recovery can help restore changes or deleted files, within plan-specific limits. Infomaniak says it does not provide a global backup of an organisation’s folders and personal drives, so kDrive versioning should not be treated as a separate, customer-controlled backup. Swiss Backup Cloud Space instead holds redundant copies across storage media and two Swiss data centres, while the customer configures the backup software and retention. With Acronis, customers manage schedules, retention and restores through its console.
Prices, terms and renewals
kDrive offers monthly and longer multi-year terms. Its pricing page advertises lower monthly rates for longer commitments, but the terms say renewal is at the tariff then in force; they do not guarantee that an introductory rate will continue or establish a price lock. Check the renewal terms for the selected duration. The kDrive page mentions a 30-day trial, but does not clearly confirm that it applies to every standalone tier. Swiss Backup offers monthly or annual billing and advertises a 90-day trial. Unpaid renewals can lead to suspension and, subsequently, deletion of stored data.
When another online storage provider may suit you better
Proton Drive may suit customers who want a provider-operated service with servers in Switzerland, Germany or Norway. Microsoft Azure is a better fit when selecting a storage account’s primary region from its available regions matters. STRATO offers hosted HiDrive services with data stated to be stored in EU data centres. Compare all online storage providers to see more options.

Frequently asked questions
Is Infomaniak online storage managed for me?
kDrive is a hosted service: Infomaniak provides the software and network service, while you manage files, sharing and available user settings. Swiss Backup Cloud Space requires you to choose and configure compatible backup software; Acronis backups are managed through its console.
Which Infomaniak storage plan should I choose?
Choose kDrive Solo for individual use, Team for a small group sharing company files, and Pro for larger or growing teams needing more storage, expandable user capacity and its additional search and editing options. Choose Swiss Backup for device or configured backup workflows rather than everyday file sharing.
Where does Infomaniak store online storage data?

kDrive has monthly and multi-year terms, and renewal is at the tariff then in force. Its pricing page mentions a 30-day trial but does not clearly say it applies to every standalone tier. Swiss Backup offers monthly or annual billing and advertises a 90-day trial.
