Hostcomplex score
8.2/10Hostinger VPS hosting offers four self-managed KVM plans, with root access and resources that scale from a lightweight server to higher-capacity workloads. Hostinger VPS plans: choosing a tier
KVM 1 is the entry plan, with 1 vCPU core, 4 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe storage and 4 TB of listed bandwidth. It is the smallest option for lighter workloads. KVM 2 doubles those resources, while KVM 4 doubles them again; KVM 8 doubles KVM 4, reaching 8 cores, 32 GB RAM, 400 GB storage and 32 TB bandwidth.
Choose a larger tier when your workload needs more processing capacity, memory, storage or transfer allowance. These are resource-based guidelines, not performance guarantees. Hostinger also documents CPU credits: once they are depleted, available CPU capacity can be temporarily limited while credits rebuild.
What stands out about Hostinger VPS
Hostinger advertises AMD EPYC processors, NVMe storage and a 1 Gbps network. Our comparison lists one dedicated IPv4 address for each tier. The service is self-managed: root access lets you configure the server, but you are responsible for its operating system, software, security and maintenance. Hostinger offers 24/7 live chat and self-service tools, not confirmed hands-on server administration.
The dashboard includes SSH and server details, resource monitoring, firewall settings, backups and OS or application installation options. Templates include operating systems, Docker and control panels. Some panels require a separate licence; availability and terms for cPanel, Plesk and DirectAdmin should be checked in the setup flow.
Weekly automated backups are included, with two weekly copies retained. Daily backups are an upgrade. Restoring a backup replaces the current VPS contents. You can also make a manual snapshot, but only one can be stored at a time and it expires after one day. Hostinger provides configurable firewall controls and says it automatically detects and filters DDoS attacks; it notes that severe attacks can lead to an affected IP being null-routed.
Hostinger lists VPS locations across Europe, Asia, North America and South America. Its location information conflicts about Netherlands availability, so the locations shown during setup are decisive. A chosen location is fixed after setup; changing it requires reinstalling the VPS.
Introductory terms and renewals
Hostinger shows introductory and renewal terms separately. Longer billing cycles generally lower the average monthly rate, but the selected term is charged upfront. KVM VPS billing options include monthly, annual and two-year cycles; our comparison lists a two-year introductory term. Renewal pricing is separate from the offer and appears at checkout or in your account. The cheapest plan currently starts at $6.16.
Hostinger advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee, subject to restrictions: cryptocurrency payments and VPS upgrades are excluded, and a successful VPS refund has a 180-day cooldown. You can disable auto-renewal; the VPS remains active until its expiry.
How it compares with other VPS hosting
Consider GreenGeeks if you want a managed VPS option; its product pages advertise managed VPS, while Hostinger leaves server administration to you. ScalaHosting lists locations including Amsterdam, London, Singapore and Sydney, which may suit a specific location requirement. Hosting.com lists ten VPS data-centre regions, including London, New York and Singapore. Compare more providers in our VPS hosting comparison.
