Visit Hostnet

Hostnet VPS hosting offers three self-managed Linux configurations, best suited to users who want root access and are comfortable administering their own server. The range starts with a small option for lighter projects and scales up for busier sites, applications or multiple workloads; Hostnet handles hardware and network incidents, but not routine server management.

Hostnet VPS plans: choosing a size

The entry plan, VPS 1GB 1CPU, lists 1 GB RAM, one processor, 25 GB SSD storage and 10 TB of traffic. It is the most modest choice for a lightweight project or a small workload that does not need much memory.

VPS 4GB 2CPU steps up to 4 GB RAM, two processors and 80 GB SSD storage, with the same listed traffic allowance. Hostnet marks this as its most chosen configuration. It is the more balanced option for a site or application that needs additional room to run.

VPS 8GB 4CPU provides 8 GB RAM, four processors and 160 GB SSD storage. It offers the most headroom in this range for heavier applications or several workloads. Hostnet’s comparison table lists these storage capacities, although some short plan cards show conflicting figures for the larger plans.

What stands out about Hostnet VPS

These plans are unmanaged: you get root access over SSH and are responsible for the server’s software and technical administration, including operating-system maintenance. Hostnet’s standard unmanaged support is for hardware or network disruptions. Its SLA describes incident diagnosis and hardware-replacement commitments, but technical support requests are handled during office hours and have no guaranteed response time.

Mijn Hostnet provides controls to start, stop or restart the VPS and includes a web console. Plesk is available as a separate licence, not a confirmed inclusion. The plans use SSD storage; Hostnet does not confirm NVMe, a CPU model or dedicated processor allocation. The listed traffic allowance is the same across all three tiers, but a network speed is not specified.

Backups are not included. Hostnet offers Acronis Backup as an add-on for creating, managing and restoring backups; detailed schedules and retention limits are not confirmed. Hostnet says it monitors its platform around the clock, but the product information does not confirm DDoS protection for these plans. It describes a high-end data centre without naming its location or offering confirmed location choices.

Prices, billing and renewals

Our comparison lists these VPS plans as monthly billed and cancellable monthly. The product page does not show a separate introductory and renewal price for this range, or explain a discount for choosing a longer term. Hostnet’s terms state that services renew automatically and that cancellation must reach the provider before the notice deadline; the general terms specify at least one month before the end of the contract period. No VPS-specific trial or money-back guarantee is confirmed.

When another VPS provider may suit you better

If server administration is not for you, Cloud86 VPS hosting is managed, with the provider handling maintenance and updates. Flashcloud VPS hosting is described as fully managed, including security patches and monitoring. For a broader choice of advertised server regions, Hostinger VPS hosting lists locations across Europe, Asia, North America and South America.
