About ZoogVPN
ZoogVPN says it was founded in May 2013 by a team with networking and IT backgrounds. The company describes its purpose as providing internet privacy and access where content is restricted. Its service is operated by Zoog Services IKE; its privacy policy identifies Zoog Services Single Member Private Company as the Greek data controller. The registered office is in Patras, Greece, while the company says its team operates internationally. No parent company is confirmed.
ZoogVPN is known for consumer VPN access, encrypted connections and VPN locations in multiple countries. It is a VPN service, not a web-hosting provider.
What ZoogVPN offers
VPN
ZoogVPN has free and Premium VPN service through apps and manual setup options. Its apps cover major desktop and mobile platforms, and the service also supports options such as routers and selected streaming devices. The Premium plan in our comparison lists features including ten simultaneous devices, several connection protocols, a kill switch, split tunnelling and an ad and tracker blocker. The free option may suit someone who wants to try VPN access, while Premium is aimed at users seeking the broader feature set.
SOCKS5 proxy
The provider offers SOCKS5 proxy access on selected ZoogVPN servers. ZoogVPN says this requires an active subscription. A proxy is a separate connection option from using its VPN apps and may suit people whose setup calls for proxy access.
VPN locations and support
ZoogVPN advertises more than 100 VPN locations in over 55 countries. Our comparison lists 1,000 servers across 55 countries. These figures describe VPN service locations and servers; we could not confirm the physical data-centre locations or whether ZoogVPN owns the underlying facilities.
The provider lists live chat, email, a contact form and Telegram support, and advertises round-the-clock availability. Its apps, a web dashboard for managing account plans, a Linux command-line tool and setup guides provide several ways to use and configure the service. Specific staffed hours and response-time guarantees are not confirmed.
Who might choose ZoogVPN?
ZoogVPN may suit people looking for a VPN with desktop and mobile apps, a free option, and additional setup choices such as router support or SOCKS5 proxy access. Look elsewhere if you need web hosting, verified details about physical server facilities, or independently confirmed privacy claims.
