About WinterNode
WinterNode says the brand dates to 2017. HostVenom says it acquired WinterNode in January 2020 and has operated in hosting since 2012. WinterNode describes itself as a wholly owned HostVenom brand, and says HostVenom’s founders run it.
Hostcomplex lists WinterNode as based in the United States. Its current headquarters city is unclear: LinkedIn lists West Chicago for HostVenom, while WinterNode’s About page describes HostVenom as a New York company.
WinterNode’s hosting range
Game server hosting
WinterNode offers managed servers for a catalog of supported games, including Minecraft, Minecraft Bedrock, Hytale, Palworld, Valheim, ARK: Survival Evolved and Terraria. Game-specific setup guides and a control panel provide access to server controls, files, databases and configuration. This is the main option for communities that want a hosted multiplayer server.
Discord bot hosting
Bot hosting includes console access, Git integration and MySQL databases. It is intended for running a Discord bot without hosting it on a personal computer.
VPS hosting
WinterNode lists virtual private servers with root access, giving customers more control over the server environment. The company lists Chicago as the VPS location.
Web hosting
Web hosting still appears in some WinterNode and legacy Fluctis Hosting materials. However, the current Client Area catalog shows no visible web-hosting products, so availability to new customers is not confirmed.
Servers and support
WinterNode lists game-server locations in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and New York City in the United States; London, Gravelines, Falkenstein and Helsinki in Europe; and Sydney in Australia. The facility operator is not identified for every location.
Customers can contact support through Discord tickets or the Client Area, with both listed as available around the clock. WinterNode calls Discord its quickest contact route and reports an average first response of about an hour. Its Help Center provides self-service guides.
Who should consider WinterNode?
WinterNode is relevant to game communities looking for a supported multiplayer server, and to customers who need a hosted Discord bot or a VPS with root access. The game-server offering includes a broad selection of games and several location choices.
Look elsewhere if you need web hosting that is clearly available for new sign-ups, or if you need a confirmed headquarters city or named facility operator for every server location. Check backup responsibility and the applicable refund terms before ordering.
