Migadu-Mail GmbH was founded in 2014. The founders say they started the service after looking for email hosting for a Swiss e-commerce project that needed multiple addresses and domains. Migadu describes itself as independent, bootstrapped and self-funded, with a focus on standards-oriented email.

The company publishes a mailing address in Schachen, Switzerland, and says it operates fully remotely without a physical office. Its public materials do not identify a parent company. Migadu is known for a pricing model based on account usage rather than the number of email addresses.

What Migadu sells

Email hosting

Migadu hosts email for your own domains. The service includes mailboxes and aliases, webmail, forwarding, administration tools and built-in DNS options. You can also connect email clients using IMAP, POP or SMTP. Basic CalDAV and CardDAV are available for calendars and contacts, and the company offers custom arrangements for enterprise customers.

It may suit individuals and organisations that want to manage multiple domains and addresses through one account. Servers and support

Migadu says its current data centres are in France, although the company is Swiss. It does not identify the data-centre cities or operators in the public material reviewed.

Support is handled by email and an account ticketing system; Migadu does not offer phone or chat support. The company describes support as available during CEST office hours. It says Standard and Maxi accounts also receive after-hours ticket monitoring for urgent issues, while Micro support is best-effort.

Who should consider Migadu?

Migadu is worth considering if you need custom-domain email, multiple addresses, standard email protocols and a way to manage several domains in one account. It is less suited to buyers who require phone or live-chat support, or who need a stated service-level agreement. Check the daily message quotas too: exceeding an account’s limits can defer incoming mail or cause outgoing messages to be rejected.
