The company is headquartered in Drachten and serves businesses, agencies and other customers. C86 Holding B.V. is identified as its parent company in a company-information profile; the ultimate individual owner or owners have not been confirmed.

Cloud86 is best known for web hosting, including WordPress-focused plans, and customer support. It also provides managed VPS hosting and services for websites, email and domains.

Cloud86 hosting and service range

Shared web hosting

Shared plans provide hosting for websites on a shared server. They include options such as email accounts, databases, backups and one-click WordPress installation, with features varying by plan.

Managed WordPress and WooCommerce hosting

These managed plans are designed for WordPress websites and online shops. Listed features include WordPress tools, automatic updates, caching, backups and migration assistance; WooCommerce hosting is available for shops.

Managed VPS

Cloud86 sells managed virtual private servers for customers who need a server environment with more allocated resources than shared hosting. Plans are managed and use Plesk.

Business email hosting

Email plans provide mailboxes for use with domains, with webmail and standard mail protocols among the listed features.

Other services

The range also includes a WordPress-based AI Website Builder, domain registration and transfers, hosting for agencies, Microsoft 365 services, and website and email migration assistance.

Servers and support

Cloud86 says it operates its own servers in Dutch data centres and mainly uses the QTS data centre in Groningen. It publishes support through its AI assistant Noa, WhatsApp, telephone and email, and provides a knowledge base. Noa and WhatsApp are listed as available around the clock; telephone support is available on weekdays during stated office hours, while Cloud86 aims to answer email within one business day.

Who Cloud86 suits

Cloud86 is worth considering if you want web, WordPress, shop, email or managed VPS services from one provider, particularly if you value managed tools and migration assistance. Compare alternatives if you need a data centre in a specific location outside the Netherlands, or if a provider’s precise cancellation and renewal terms are a deciding factor.
